After a brief hiatus, I am back in the saddle with my 365 Days project. I took a few weeks off while moving across the country from New York City to Honolulu — about as big a move possible within the U.S. I was briefly staying at a hotel while house hunting and things were just too hectic to be in a creative mode. Now, with a semi-permanent roof over my head and an office, I’m ready to take (at least) one picture a day again!

You can check out my progress at flickr.com

I expect to get the head some time in the third or fourth week of September. I still haven’t decided what my theme for the project will be, but I hope to do some Through the Viewfinder photos of the manequin head. If this all sounds mysterious, check out the project site and check back for updates. To find out about the photo technique described above, try searching for TTV on flickr.com.

I’ve owned AndreiTallent.com for many years now and have often toyed with having a site on it. The trouble was always in deciding what to put on it. My resume? A personal blog? A business site? The posibilities were endless and so it never got developed. Most of the time it simply pointed to my Personal Chef Business at TallentedChef.com.

I now see that much of my life is a series of projects, rather than a cumulative quest for some elusive goal. I enjoy doing projects. It suits me. I like delving deep into challenges until I understand them and solve whatever problems are associated with them. Then, I get the urge to move on.

Now I dive into whatever projects come my way - or in many cases, project that I seek out because they present a specific challenge. Some are art related, like disposableproject.com and my upcoming session with the manequin head of theheadproject.com. Others are business related, like my tallentedchef.com site which has been in desperate need of redesign since I moved. I also have several web development projects on the horizon and this will be a perfect venue to showcase them.

Enjoy the site and stay tuned for lots of upcoming projects!

The Disposable Project was inspired by various collaborative art projects I found around the web. I wanted to do something with disposable cameras and came up with the idea of distributing cameras like a chain letter. I sent out 10 cameras to people I know and asked them to send me the pictures. I also asked them to send out more cameras to their friends and family - 10 preferably. So far the results are very limited, but I remain optimistic that the project will gain some momentum at some time soon.
